Brightbulb Design is a multi award winning design studio with offices on the Isle of Wight and London. We have opportunities for the brightest designers in the country to join our team. We are seeking a fantastic all round nice person and graphic designer to be based in our London office in Dalston as part of a major expansion plan. You will be required to work on the Isle of Wight 1 day a week with the remaining time spent in London. Travel costs will be covered. This is a full time role but can be flexible to more part time hours if more suited to your lifestyle and for the right candidate. The Role
We are looking for a talent, someone with a real understanding of design and design principles but also experience in designing fantastic looking web sites in terms of layout and conceptual design (although experience in building websites is an advantage it is not essential). We would like someone who has a real understanding of marketing and marketing strategy and people who have worked on social media campaigns and video would be a bonus.
Typical activities include:
Managing major London accounts on a day to day basis in a fast moving environment
Managing other client projects from design, print and production
Working with clients, briefing and advising them with regards to design style, format, print production and timescales
Developing concepts, graphics and layouts for company logos, marketing materials and websites
Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size
Preparing rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief
Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required
Liaising with external printers on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed to the highest quality.
If you have knowledge in any of the below, well done you, it will be a nice bonus to your application……
PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript and any additional web technologies, frameworks or CMS systems
Social media campaign management
Video production and editing
Animation
Qualifications and training required
A good knowledge of design software, such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and PhotoShop. Knowledge of CMS systems also an advantage as is knowledge of HTML, CSS and PHP.
Excellent IT skills and experience with an apple mac required.
Accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent time management and organisational skills
An understanding of the latest trends and their role within a commercial environment
Ability to work on your own
